Andrew Baldwin | Staff Governor Governor
I have been resident in Eastbourne all my life, married for 43 years and have 3 children and 6 grandchildren, and one adopted daughter. My background has been in commercial business as a business accountant, and as director of my own training company delivering adult education. I have acquired a working knowledge of a range of compliance issues which include Employment and selection, Financial, Funding, Awarding Body and Ofsted.
I am currently an active school governor of Pashley Down Infant School and chair their Learning Environment sub-committee and sit on the Finance and Pay and Personnel committees. I understand the value of “critical friendship” in an honest and open manner.
I have been employed by Tollgate as Caretaker since December 2016 and in my time with the school I have become very passionate about the school and its values and was pleased to have the opportunity to volunteer as Staff Governor to contribute further.
As caretaker I am responsible for ensuring the health and safety of all who come to the school and for maintaining the fabric and hygiene of the building. As governor I have specific responsibilities for General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). I am a keen volunteer in making useful items for the school (e.g. Storyteller chair and bug house) and am looking forward to be involved in our next project of developing our “quiet area”.
