Music is a universal language that embodies one of the highest forms of creativity. Our children will be provided with high-quality, engaging and inspiring musical experiences.

In order to do this, Tollgate children will:

• listen to, and explore, music from a wide range of cultures, genres, styles, traditions and historical periods
• develop an understanding of how and why music is created, as they progress with their own compositions using instruments, technology and voice
• perform music in a variety of contexts using their own skills, experiences and knowledge
• enjoy opportunities to express themselves musically, as well as reflect upon and analyse music created by a range of musicians
