We inspire our children to be inquisitive and excited about science, developing a sense of curiosity into their future learning and beyond. Science lessons encourage children to predict, observe and problem solve.

In order to do this, Tollgate children will:

• have the confidence and curiosity to ask questions that can direct their learning, e.g. ‘What if?’; ‘Why?’
• investigate phenomena using a range of practical strategies and hands on resources
• question, explore, draw conclusions and develop their understanding of the world around them
• be willing to reflect upon, adapt and adjust their own scientific thinking
